Op. Dr. Arzu Ercan

Op. Dr. Arzu Ercan is a specialist physician with more than 20 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular surgery. She combines current medical methods with minimally invasive techniques in coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve surgery, aortic aneurysm and dissection, carotid artery stenosis and the surgical treatment of peripheral vascular disease.

After completing her primary education in Denizli, Manisa and Izmir, Op. Dr. Arzu Ercan graduated from Izmir İnönü High School in 1993. She studied medicine at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine between 1993 and 1999 and then completed her specialty training in Cardiovascular Surgery at the same university between 2000 and 2006, earning the title of specialist physician. During her residency she gained extensive clinical experience in open-heart surgery, coronary bypass surgery, heart valve repair and replacement, and major vascular surgery.

She began her professional career at Bursa Medical Park Hospital in 2006–2007 and served as a specialist physician and deputy chief physician at Bursa Şevket Yılmaz Hospital between 2007 and 2010, developing both her surgical practice and her experience in clinical management. She worked at Bursa Rentıp Hospital in 2010–2012 and, from 2012, at Balıkesir Sevgi Hospital, alternating this role with Bursa Acıbadem Hospital between 2016 and 2018. From 2018 onwards she treated patients at the Acıbadem hospitals in Bursa, Kadıköy and Taksim, broadening her clinical experience across different centres and taking part in a large number of complex cardiovascular cases.

Today Op. Dr. Arzu Ercan sees her patients at Acıbadem Kozyatağı Hospital in Istanbul, working on the principles of evidence-based treatment planning, transparent communication with the patient and regular follow-up after surgery. Taking a multidisciplinary approach, she works in coordination with cardiology, anaesthesia and intensive care teams to offer every patient a personalised treatment process. She is married and has three sons.
